1. Choose a Business Structure
Decide on your business type (Sole Proprietorship, LLC, Corporation, etc.)
Register with Illinois Secretary of State (if applicable)
Obtain an Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS
2. Register Your Business
Register business name with Cook County Clerk (if applicable)

3. Check Zoning Requirements
Verify your business location complies with Chicago zoning laws
Obtain Zoning Certification if required
4. Obtain Chicago Business License
Complete application and pay fees
Schedule and pass any required inspections
5. Apply for Additional Permits/Licenses (If Applicable)
Food Service Sanitation (if applicable)
